What I have learned about myself from watching Ugly Betty, is that you should not judge people by their appearance. It is so easy to look at someone's hair, clothes, make-up and you just assume that you know what they have been through. You don't. So I am trying to really practice that in my life.
I have learned that you shouldn't let people dictate what you are and aren't capable of. The talents you posess and the person you are can not be measured by your appearance.
I have learned from watching Ugly Betty that you don't have to be tall, thin, and blonde to be amazing. Fascinating people come in all shapes and sizes. Go Betty!
Ugly Bett showed that each person is unique. Yet, we all have one thing in common, we all seek approval by others and we all need to be loved.Guess that makes us all human after all:)
I have learned that pretty people are not always pretty and ugly people can be prettier. A smile is worth more then a perfect body and teeth.
What I have learned about myself from watching Betty is never underestimate a person who does the best she can, doesn't settle for second best, and it is possible to knock down each door that is slammed at you, no matter what anyone says.
Jess,
I am a 36 yeard old first generation Mexican-American. I have fought the same battles Betty Suarez has in her show & I identify so much with her stuggles, her hopes & her fears.
In watching Ugly Betty, I have learned that my story is that of so many other women out there & that we need to unite and help the next generations of "Bettys". Watching the show makes me want to do more for the young women, especially the Hispanic young women. I want to let them know that they to CAN have the dream job and the success, that no matter where you come from or what you look like...that dream CAN be yours.
Thanks, Jess, you to are an inspiration to all.
